Ollie Mae | Vendor Spotlight Sunday

HAPPY SUNDAY!

We are super excited to tell you guys a little more about one of our amazing vendors, Ollie Mae. Amy and Katie actually rent the largest booth in 410 Collective and absolutely kill it with their clothing and accessories! Read below to learn more about Amy and Katie and what drove them to start Ollie Mae!

What inspired you to start your business:
We wanted to do something together and Katie had the idea of a traveling boutique. Katie found an Airstream trailer on eBay in Alabama and the rest is history!

How long have you been in business:
Since 2013! We’ve learned A LOT along the way!

What makes your business unique:
We try to carry unique clothes at affordable prices. If we wouldn’t pay that price, you won’t see it in our store! I think of it as adorable Anthropologie. The most special thing about our business though is that we take 10% of our profits and we give back to Pure Hope Foundation. It is a phase 2 program for women who have been rescued out of sex trafficking.

What’s your favorite part of owning your own business:
We are sisters and we have our disagreements about decisions but we are honest with one another and it’s only brought us closer. We both say that we could never do this type of business with any other person in this world because we are best friends. We’ve gotten pretty good at reading each other’s mind. Katie is by far my favorite part of this business! I love every second we get to spend together!!!!

Any advice for entrepreneurs who want to start a business:
Stay true to yourself. If you don’t love something yourself, then you can’t sell it to someone else. However, its also good to be flexible and to change! If something isn’t working, move it, look at it differently or get rid of it all together!

SUCH GOOD ADVICE! I love the story of Ollie Mae, the relationship between Katy and Amy, and of course that a portion of their profits go to such a wonderful cause! We are so thankful to have them and look forward to many more years in business!
