Hannah Rains | Vendor Spotlight Sunday

Today I want to introduce everyone to Hannah Rains of Hann Made Creations! Hannah creates beautiful custom digital portraits and I’m a wee bit obsessed! I was thrilled when Hannah and her sister, Sarah, reached out to me about booth space. These ladies are amazing and I’m so excited to watch their businesses grow! Read below to learn more about how awesome Hannah is!

What Inspired you to start your business?

I have loved art since I was young. I was always drawing and doodling in notepads and journals. I also loved to paint with acrylic and watercolor as well. As I got older, I began to enjoy DIYs and making things on a budget with my own hands. Art and DIYs have always been a creative outlet for me and a way to de-stress. I had always envisioned having a little shop to sell the things that I made, but I had never done anything about it.

It wasn’t until I began making Custom Digital Portraits for people to commission that ideas began to come together for me to actually start a business. The Custom Digital Portraits gave me the nudge I needed to get the other creative juices flowing and begin designing other things such as stickers and prints.

How long have you been in business?

I took the plunge and bought an Ipad in November, 2019. That is when began doodling digitally. But I did not start my @hann.made.creations page on Instagram and this business until the beginning of June, while the country was locked down during quarentine. So I have been in business for 3 months!

What makes your business unique?

What makes Hann Made Creations unique is that we give 10% of our profits away. I have a heart for missions, connecting with people in need, and supporting nonprofits! This is where 10% of our profits will go! Since Hann Made Creations is fairly new and just starting out, we are starting out with supporting one missionary, who happens to be one of my friends! In the month of August, 2020, we were able to give her $20 from our profits! I cannot wait to see how much we are able to give as we grow! When I launch our website, people will even be able to donate to specific people or organizations that they feel connected to! So keep an eye out for that!

My heart for Hann Made Creations is that it will be a brand that brings hope and joy to people through our designs and products. I want our customers to be able to look at their purchases and be full of love, compassion, hope, joy, and peace. I want us to be a place to connect and a source of encouragement, support, and belonging. I hope that people will be able to sense that uniqueness from Hann Made Creations and that they will want to purchase our products and be apart of our journey!

What’s your favorite part of owning your own business?

I think that my favorite part of owning a business is the people that I have been able to connect with because of it! Sure, it it is nice that people want to purchase the things that I make and that I can work on business-y things whenever I want to, but I am all about connecting with people. I have made so many amazing friends that I would not have come into contact with otherwise! Most of them are small business owners as well, so we get to support and encourage each other, which I am so thankful for!

Any advice for entrepreneurs who want to start a business?

If you have a relationship with Jesus, then pray! That is my advise! This is something that I am still growing in for sure, but I know that God hears our prayers. Prayer makes a difference! If you have a business idea, but don’t know how to make it happen, pray. If you want to start a business, but don’t know what it should be, pray. If you need business connections, pray. If you need customers, pray.

If you don’t know Jesus, He is someone worth getting to know because He is the best business partner you could have. If you have any questions about Him and want to chat, DM me on Istagram @hann.made.creations .

Having people to support and encourage you is also very important. I am grateful that I have had that through family and friends! If you want another friend to bounce around ideas with and support you, reach out to me!

Ya’ll, I’m not crying. I love Hannah’s heart for people and desire to help others through her business! It’s vendors like these that make my heart swell! Thank you, Hannah, for taking the plunge and being brave enough to start your own business. I first hand know just how scary that is! We are so happy you are a part of 410 Collective!
