I am so excited to introduce Sarah Rains of Clay by Sarah! Sarah is such a talent and I absolutely LOVE her clay earrings. They are doing fantastic at the shop and we are so excited that Sarah chose us to be her physical location! Read below to learn more about Sarah and her business.
What inspired you to start your business:
Growing up, I’ve always had a creative side. When I was younger, I used to make little charms out of clay. I would sit for hours and just create all kinds of little things out of clay, from food to animals, and I loved it! before I started my business, I kept seeing clay earrings on pinterest and instagram and thought they were so fun! One day on pinterest I saw a little tutorial video on how to make a pair of clay earrings. After watching it, I thought to myself, “I think i could have so much fun doing this! Especially since I used to love creating with clay growing up!”. My husband is really into business, so I talked to him about it and he encouraged me to go for it! So I did and I’ve loved it ever since!
How long have you been in business:
I had my first sale from a girl who reached out to me on June 12th. but i officially opened sales on my @clay.by.sarah instagram page June 19th.
What makes your business unique:
I think my business is unique because I put my own style in the pieces I make. They might not be perfect but they’re made with love and a purpose!
What’s your favorite part of owning your own business:
I love owning my own business because I can do things how I want and just have fun with it! I absolutely love every part of it and love being creative in my own way!
Any advice for entrepreneurs who want to start a business:
I would just say to do something you love! When you love what you do it doesn’t even feel like work!
It’s so true Ya’ll! I’m so proud of both Sarah and her sister Hannah for starting their businesses in these uncertain times! It can be difficult, but it’s so worth it! I can’t wait to watch Sarah’s business grow!
